  What is Social Networking?

It is when you use an online network while on the web. Unless it is a wiki or chat room that you set up with some friends – most have a specific topic which you need to stay focused on. Today we are sharing events in 2008 which you found interesting and want to share with others. It allows someone else to comment about your comments as well.

There are some etiquette rules: don’t writing in caps, using the "@" sign to direct a comment at someone specifically, welcome new users to the chat by saying "hello," and by writing complete thoughts instead of 2-3 word phrases (which are of course OK for some things conversation, but not as the sole means of communicating). And of course stay focused, and don’t use it for socializing via the wiki.

Most importantly, you need to remember that when you signed the Appropriate Use Agreement the beginning of the year, that you must comply with all school rules when using this forum.

  Conclusion

This is an introduction to Social Networking. Remember to use safe practices when you go online, regardless of the online environment.
