  Introduction

Last week we began to learn about plate tectonics. This week we will look more closely at earthquakes and why they happen.

 

 

 

 

 

  The Task

You will listen and read along about earthquakes are and what they do and why they do it. You will also think about earthquakes and the probability (chance) that one will happen in Connecticut.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  The Process

1. Go to the Resources section and click on the Britannica link – when you enter the site, be sure to click on the tab “NARRATION”, this will allow you to read along while the person is talking.

2.  After completing the animation segment, click on the “GLOSSARY” tab to review the words and ideas that were in the first segment.

3. Open the links – be sure to follow the instructions

4.  Take the quiz in Zoomerang

5.  Open the link and read about earthquakes in Connecticut

6. Log into the Noah Webster Wiki, go into Discussions, and read the question in 6th Grade Plate Tectonics – answer the question, then read other peoples responses. Add to your answer, or to other people’s responses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Conclusion
